In one line: cookieless, privacy-first analytics, no advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no "accept cookies" pop-up, because nothing we use needs your consent.
Do we use cookies?
Only essential ones. A cookie is a small file a website can store in your browser. We don't set any cookies for tracking, analytics or advertising. Two essential cookies may be set: a security cookie from our host, Cloudflare, to tell real visitors from bots and keep the site online; and, if you sign in, a session cookie so you stay logged in as you move between pages. Neither identifies you to advertisers or follows you around the web, and both are necessary for the thing you asked for (a working, secure site; staying signed in), so neither needs a consent banner.
What about "local storage"?
For some features we use your browser's local storage to remember your choices on your own device. This isn't a cookie, and it's never sent anywhere on its own. It covers your Style DNA quiz result and any wall messages you write, and, while you're signed out, your saved looks, likes, follows and votes. Once you sign in, those four are saved to your account instead, so they follow you across your devices (see the Privacy Policy).
You're in full control: clearing your browser's site data for roguefashion.uk wipes all of it instantly.
What about analytics?
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read. It's cookieless: it sets nothing on your device, doesn't track you across other sites, and can't identify you. It's the privacy-respecting opposite of the ad-tech analytics that cookie banners exist for, which is why it needs no consent.
Why there's no "accept cookies" banner
Those banners exist because many sites store trackers on your device to follow you across the web for advertising. We don't: our cookies are essential, and our analytics is cookieless. So there's genuinely nothing for you to accept or reject, and we'd rather not interrupt you with a pointless pop-up. If we ever add anything that tracks you, we'll ask for your consent first, properly, before it runs.
Shopping links & advertising
Some pages link out to retailers (like Zara, ASOS or Nike) so you can shop a look. When you click one, you leave our site and that retailer's own privacy and cookie policies take over. We add a simple label to those links so we can see which ones are useful. It doesn't tell us who you are.
We don't currently earn commission from these links. If that ever changes, we'll tell you clearly, both here and on the links themselves, so you always know when a link could earn us something.
